Someone riding a bike
Why do people prefer bicycle riding far more then other type of activity? The answer is simple, mostly for the fun of it.
The bicycle has been around for almost a century and half, and it is the cheapest way of transport. In the beginning the bicycle was used mostly for traveling. The thought of fitness and sport activity has never occurred back then. They probably didn’t even have the word fitness. The bicycle still remains the number one machine in saving transport expenses. It moves using the power of your legs; goes faster as much as you want to; you can stop at any place at any time for a break; you can start riding without the need of fuel or starter key; and so on and so on.
The bicycle operates in the simple way that it can be. Body balance must be overcome over the two wheels, this is done by practice. Logically the balance cannot be maintained while stationary, pedals must be rotated with the feat in order for the wheel to get in motion, and thus balance is maintained as you drive the bicycle.
People don’t start riding a bicycle when they reach a certain age in their life. Almost every one has learned to ride a bicycle when they were children of 5 or 6 years old.
They start mastering the skills step by step, maintain balance on a smaller bike, preferably with assistant wheels attached to the rear wheel. And as they ride the bicycle more often, balance is mastered easily and they are ready for the next level: removing the assistant wheels or getting a bigger bicycle.
After balance is maintained, the fun begins. You’ve all heard the saying: “It’s like bicycle riding. You can’t forget it.” This is simple to understand considering the fact that once you learn how to drive a bicycle, you can never forget it, it’s that easy.
Nowadays almost 95% of the people ride the bicycle for the healthy benefit that it provides to the body. The body energy that it’s used to move the bicycle provides healthy muscle movement in the legs; regulates heart rate; exercises the lungs for better breathing; better blood flow circulation; and the mostly for the fun of it. The fun of riding a bicycle is not limited on movement in the urban areas, like parks and bicycle routs on the street, but goes further to the mountains where people use specially modified mountain bikes to ride in the forest and mountain trails.
