Car Crashes in US by Teenagers

Teen drivers in the United States are seriously under the scanner now as more and more teen deaths are occurring in various parts of America. In recent times more and more teen deaths have been reported because of reckless driving and that is really a worrying situation for the people who become victims of teen driver crashes. In one of the recent national research report by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and State Farm Insurance Companies it was found that more teens in America have died in last few years than the number of teens that have died because of problems like cancer and suicide.

The report also shows that last year more than 40,000 people have lost their lives due to teen driver crashes and the numbers are only increasing. The report also showed that in the year 2008 nearly half a million Americans lost their lives because of reckless driving by teenagers and 30% of the people were not present in the car when they died. This indicates that pedestrians and cyclists are also the victims of teen driver crashes at times. According to Dennis Durbin, Co-Scientific Director of the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at CHOP and co-author of the report the best way to tackle the issue is to educate the teens about the dangers of reckless driving and that should be done by all the people including those who don’t have any teen drivers at home.
