It all started in the mid- 1970’s when a biker by the name of Mike Sinyard and his friends cyclist started talking about expending the limit of their mountain bike driving. Their goal was pedaling on dirt trails and riding down rocky hills.
Modifying their 1930s and 1940s B.F. Goodrich, Schwinn and Hawthorne bikes, they crashed and physically injured their bodies. But that wasn’t enough for them as they yearned for more thrill on the mountain roads and went back again. As the initiator of this type of thrill, Sinyard was probably the better one in not falling down too often as his friends did.

The hardtail mountain bike is one of the two kinds of mountain bikes: full-suspension mountain bicycles and hardtail mountain bicycles. This kind of bikes do not have a rear suspension integrated, however, most of them have a suspension fork. Before the advancing of the technology of rear suspension, people did not have a hard time deciding between the two types of bicycles, they always chose hardtail mountain bikes. But, the technology of rear suspension advanced and this made the decision much more difficult. That of course does not mean that we should forget about all the benefits that can come only with a hardtail bike. That is the reason why we are going to remind you to some of them. It all depends more or less on what you need the bike for in particular. For a more technical terrain for example you would definitely need a hardtail bike.
Hardtail mountain bikes are made for off-road rides, single tracks and every type of racing. They are lighter in weight than the full suspension bikes because there are fewer parts integrated into the frame, they are more durable at the same time because there is no rear suspension which is hard to maintain and they are much cheaper than the full suspension bikes.
We can come to a conclusion that hardtails are cheap to buy and cheap to maintain, they are light and not space-consuming, yet they have high level of endurance and are perfect for cross country races. So, in spite of the fact that rear suspension technology has noted some improvements, hardtail bike is still the best and most convenient choice for every kind of bike racing. Whether you are new in mountain biking or you are an experienced bike racer you will see that a hardtail bike is the best you could choose.

There was an array of changes underwent in developing this two-wheel-off-road device. The changes went from the change of shape to the change of the very structure, meaning of the materials being used, all that to make the mountain bike a vehicle which will enable the riders have comfortable and safe ride.
The diversity of models comes from the diversity of requirements for each type of mountain bike racing. For example, the Cross Country XC model is manufactured to meet the requirements for a cross racing. These bikes are lighter in weight which makes them function better when climbing.
