San Francisco bicycle rentals

When you go somewhere you always want to see and feel everything of the new surrounding. Going to a city that you don’t know is a new life adventure. But why not make it even more adventurous than it already is. If you are a free spirit and you enjoy peddling than I recommend that you take a bike and explore the city. If you don’t own a bike or if taking it with you from home is too much, you can always rent one. And if you think that you wont’ be able to handle yourself in the big city don’t worry they have guides.

In these lines you’ll see a couple of companies that rent bikes and guide bike tours in San Francisco.

This company is called Blazing Saddles. Depending on what you would like to ride the bicycle rentals go from $32 to $88 per day, tandems go from $68, triples $105, kids bikes $20, kids tandems $58 even trailers, baby seats, tag-a-longs ($20 a day). A guided tour will cost you around $60 (with the bike included). The company has four locations in San Francisco and has a 24-hour drop-off location. And most important you can make a reservation on-line and you get 10% discount.

My second choice is called Bike and Roll San Francisco. Their rates are similar to my first choice i.e. daily rates go from $32 to $75 but the difference is that here they have an hourly rate that goes from $8 to $15 (but not for all their rental fleet).

They also have guided tours that cost from $60-$70. The interesting thing is that they have an offer “Economy Class Rental”. There weekly they have a different rental bicycle for a very low price (when I was reviewing it was $14.99 per day for a Comfort Bike). This company has a much more organized web page. Go on-line and see it for yourself.

And my final choice is Bay City Bike. Rates from bicycle rentals go from $32 to $68. Kid’s bicycle rentals are no higher than $20. They have a group touring (there was no information about the price range). You can find them on four locations in San Francisco.
Some of the other bicycle rental companies that I would recommend are:

• Golden Gate Park Bike & Skate
• Avenue Cyclery
• San Francisco Cyclery
• Mike’s Bikes of San Francisco

My recommendation is that you go on-line or in person see for yourself what fits you best and enjoy a “green” walk across San Francisco.
