Carbon frame road bikes

Carbon frame road bikesToday’s bike industry has advanced a lot. Producing a bike nowadays is an art of its own. Depending on the needs of the rider the industry offers bikes made of steel, aluminum, titanium and bikes made of other materials. The last and most popular is the carbon fiber bikes.

The carbon fiber is a non-metallic material that is used to make the frame of the bike. What is carbon fiber? It’s a mix of threads of carbon and epoxy resin, its like fiberglass but the difference is that in here is that they use carbon fibers. The epoxy is the glue that holds the fibers together. Why is a carbon fiber frame good? First of all, because it’s not a metal it isn’t a subject to corrosion. Second, it doesn’t weight a lot, which makes it easier to move. And in the end it’s flexible so you can make it into any shape that you see fit.

We must emphasize that these carbon frames are best used in races, because this carbon material provides shapes that will give better aerodynamics to the bike unlike the other materials.

The negative side of the carbon framed bikes is that they are rather expensive (because of the way carbon fibers are shaped into). Also have in mind that this material is a rather delicate material so have to take good care of it in order not to break it.

The market offers a lot of bikes that have carbon frames I would like to single out some of them together with their characteristics:

Carbon frame road bikes
• The 950 grams Servino full carbon bike,1 1/8″ integrated head tube, with 31.6mm seat post and a 35mm front derailleur clamp diameter available in all sizes;
• The Verde is a very lightweight full carbon compact frameset constructed with Toray T800 Ultra High Modulous (UHM). The integrated seat mast provides superior stiffness and reduces maintenance. Only 50 of these limited models were produced ;
• And also the Ciocc, Coppi, Casati Carbon Bikes.

All of these bikes are Italian brands of bikes Torelli.

Also I would like to mention that nowadays there is an even more sophisticated way in the making of carbon framed road bikes. The metallic boron is also used as an addition to the carbon matting in order to enhance stiffness. The newest brands use Kevlar fibers in the mix in order to improve the vibrations and to enlarge the impact strength. These carbon framed bikes are mostly ridden by professional cyclists.
