Specialized BMX Bikes
It all started somewhere in California in the early 1970’s, when couple of kids modified their 20″ Schwinn Stingray bicycles and started making tricks on parking lots and parks. One summer was enough for this sport to spread around the US with the name of Bicycle Motocross, later BMX.

The term “Freestyle” still wasn’t pronounced by the skilled BMX bikers, but it had a man that started modifying the durability and strength of BMX to withstand numerous trick challenges. His name is Bob Haro and is considered as the founding father of freestyle BMX and Specialized BMX Bikes.
BMX bike takes more abuse than any other type of bike you can imagine. BMX Freestylers invent new tricks every day and they put their physical health on the line for extra adrenalin. Half-Pipe and Street style are the most popular in the sport. There are a lot of organized tournaments and championships in both Classes Street and Half-Pipe; Entertainment publicity like BMX movies and Video games;

What a specialized BMX bike requires is a firm frame able to withstand barspins, grinds and dirt jumps. Another sticking unique accessory that is a BMX must-have is the pegs. Pegs are installed on both wheels in the center of the rim. They allow the biker perform as much tricks as he can think of. Tricks made during driving or balanced tricks on the bike. With the biker standing on them when both wheels are on the ground, there is almost no weight problem for the frame. But when he lifts the bike on one wheel, with his feet on the pegs, tricks are performed with spinning the bike; jumping with the bike while balancing it on one wheel. This leads not only to strong pegs, but firm rims also that can bear the weigh of the biker and his tricks.

The pegs are just part of the specialized BMX bike. The “hero” of the BMX parts that enable the performance of adrenalin tricks is the Crank set along with the pedals. 90% of the tricks on the BMX bike finish with the biker steeling his feet on the pedals; the entire body weight with falling gravity lands on the Crank set and pedals. Half-Pipe competitions make the ultimate pressure on the bike’s strength, considering its capability to make the bikers break the laws of physics for a moment and then answer the question of falling gravity.

It is highly important for a specialized BMX bike to have a strong Crank set with firm pedals to withstand bike-jumps landing; and pegs for longer balanced tricks and jumps.
