Girls on custom bikes
Women, same as men, crave for respect. Yes, the debates and the struggles never end it’s an on going fight between the two sex what and who deserves or doesn’t deserve. But in this fight we forget that we are all just human beings and that we were all created equal. The bottom line I thing that what is seen to fit men also can fit women well at least in the bike custom industry.
The bike custom industry offers a lot nowadays. The word custom means that a woman can go on and order up a bike that best fits her.
As we all know women are much smaller in size than men. We have much smaller torsos, shorter legs and arm smaller feet and of course bigger hips. According to these women cyclists need special seats as well as the appropriate size of stems and handlebars.
Depending on what level in cycling they are we also have to take care of the comfort and safety in order to get to the final goal, the right custom bike for women.
The first thing that started it all was the so called pink bike or the Luna bike. That was the beginning of the embodiment of women cyclists in this industry. I wouldn’t like to forget the Sweat Pea bicycles or Seven Cycles.
The bikes that best fit women are known as WSD or Women’s Specific Design bikes. There are companies that compel the cycling needs of a woman and those manufacturers are:

I know that this is a text about custom build bikes but if you’re not that big of an enthusiast in cycling I recommend that you buy a bike that can be found in the local bike shops.
But why custom? Well why not if you think that you have the time, the patience and of course the money to invest. Have in mind that a professional will take your measures which will be aligned with your flexibility, your ridding style even your joint ankles. Most of the custom bike frames are made of steal but it can be found in any material that you like.
In the end don’t think that women don’t ride custom bikes. Lately the custom bike industry if filled with women that look forward to ridding their perfect bike fit. Don’t be afraid to do it yourself.
